HOLY MONASTERY OF AGIOS NIKOLAOS · METSOVO
Imperator tastings take place in the specially designed tasting room, an example of Metsovo's local architecture, near the oldest monastery of Metsovo, the Holy Monastery of Agios Nikolaos, with a panoramic view over the Metsovitikos river that Julius Caesar once crossed.

First written mention in the 13th century. Its basement today hosts the cellar where Imperator wines mature.

The tasting room sits next to the cellar that still houses the handmade barrel of 1782.

Before the tasting, a guided tour takes place at the Holy Monastery of Agios Nikolaos, where the visitor may enter the katholikon of the monastery, behold the rare icon of the Virgin nursing the Christ Child, and then descend into the monastery's timeless cellar, where they will encounter one of the largest and oldest barrels in the world, with a capacity of 14 tonnes.
The Holy Monastery of Agios Nikolaos is at the foot of Metsovo, just outside the settlement.
